About Us

The Airdrie Scots Pipes & Drums started out of the garage of our Pipe Major, Kevin Fraser.  We received a request to perform for the opening ceremonies for the Alberta Summer Games in Airdrie in 2014, thus the Band was born.

We perform in Parades, at festivals, for events, and we host an annual Robbie Burns event in January.

We have evolved from being a strictly traditional parade band Pipe Band.  We have added to our skills and repertoire so that we could be more like the Red Hot Chili Pipers (bagpipe Rock).   We have openings for people who play, Trumpet, Sax, Trombone, Guitar and Keyboard.  As well, we are looking to augment our parade tunes similar to the Scottish Regiments in Scotland where they have Brass and Reed instruments as well.

We are always accepting new members.

We have a working relationship with both a Scottish Country Dance group, a Highland Dance school as well as a Canadian Step Dance school.

We can help arrange lessons in piping and drumming for anyone in the Calgary/Airdrie area.
