2020 Robbie Burns Things to Know

Robbie Burns Things to Know

I hope you are excited about the Robbie Burns Dinner and Performance as I am. All of the performers have been practicing their hearts out, and we are now ready to go!

This is a relaxed semi-formal event. Most of the performers will be in kilts. If you have one, we invite you to wear yours as well. If you don’t, we ask that you dress in business casual, or better.

The doors open at 3:30pm. The performers will start at 4:30.   We will have some solo-ists, some poetry, and the Dance For Life dancers.  The Airdrie Scots Pipes and Drums will then perform their set!

About 5:30pm we will be piping in the Haggis. It will then be properly addressed, and then we shall have dinner.

After dinner, we will have traditional Burns dinner activities – the toast to the Lassies, the reply, etc. After this, we will resume the performers, starting with the McRae School of Highland Dance.

There will be a silent auction held. We will be able to take cash, cheques, credit and debit.

The Fraser Highland Shoppe will also be on site.  They are donating all net proceeds from sales this weekend to the band!

There is a cash bar.

Our event typically lasts 4 hours.

You do not need to bring tickets.  We will have a list of ticket holders at the door.  However, we will only have the name of the person who purchased the ticket, so members of your group will need to know whose name the tickets are in!

The event is open seating.  We have a couple large groups for whom we will designate tables, but otherwise find an open seat and it’s yours!
